Roast potatoes

For me there is no better comfort food than potatoes baked in the oven, maybe it is because it belongs to sweet and delicious carbs or because it has to do with the recollection of the warmth you felt during Sunday’ s lunch at home with the loved ones, where the baked potatoes always accompanied food on the table.

Baked potatoes it is then for today, a simple and yet delicious meal. Juicy, crusty, sour, herbal, spicy, aromatic, cherished.

Recipe:

5 medium sized potatoes or as many as you need to cover the surface of a large baking pan. Sea salt, peperoncino, oregano, thyme, 2 cloves of garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil. You don’t have to add water in the mix, because we don’t want any boilling to happen, our objective is to reach higher temperatures in the oven.

Preheat your oven to 200 Degrees Celsius and mix your washed, pealed and cut potatoes with the rest of the ingredients and leave it on the oven to do the rest. Make sure that you cut the potatoes in the same size. Place your baking pan on the second rack from the bottom and reduce the oven’s temperature to 180 degrees Celsius. When they reach a golden crust on the outside, they are ready. Enjoy 🙂

We could accompany grilled burgers with roast potatoes, a greek salad and goat cheese along with a greek beer from Chalkidiki (bio cultivation).

Bio cultivated greek beer from Chalkidiki, abv. 5.4% and aromas of hops and hints of lemon, white flowers and yeast.

Bon Appetit! Cheers!
